Des Allemands Volunteer Fire Department was started in 1952, incorporated in 1956. It made up of all Volunteers.

Purpose:

This corporation is organized for the following purpose and to carry on the following as listed: To promote, train, and teach interested parties in the preservation and protection of life and property from destruction by fire, or other catastrophe; to perform duties; to own, purchase, department, and generally to do any and all things relative necessary for the operation of an efficient fire department; to protect and preserve all property from and during any fire or fires that may occur in Des Allemands, Louisiana, or any surrounding territory when called upon.
